What is Literary Fiction?

Don't let the title 'Literary Fiction' put you off! There is no homework looking for theme and symbolism.  Literary fiction is generally a type of fiction that is not based on a specific genre and often character, rather than plot driven. It can focus on language, writing style and  time structure; often written in ways that require you to pay close attention; or it can be a family saga that takes you to a whole new part of the world.

Literary fiction titles are great for book club picks, as they are often topical and can evoke strong and different reactions in readers. Strong opinions make great discussions! Literary fiction titles are often award winners and on Year’s Best lists too.
