The Great Give Back is a community service initiative created by the Suffolk County Public Library Directors Association and the Suffolk Cooperative Library System, in conjunction with the Nassau Library System. The mission of The Great Give Back is to provide a day of opportunities for the patrons of the public libraries of New York State to participate in meaningful, service-oriented experiences.
The Great Giveback is held annually in October and is a wonderful way for people to get involved with their libraries in a way that supports the community. This year's date is Saturday, October 19.

Want to get involved but aren't able to coordinate an event at your library? No problem!
NCLS will be running a hygiene drive this fall to support our CareKits Initiative. We'll be collecting items to be distributed to schools, senior housing, and local organizations that serve populations in need.
Your library can send items to NCLS through the delivery - just make sure they are in a box or bag clearly marked for the Great Giveback. We'll be collecting items in the delivery from September 9 through October 11.

Finally, NCLS will be accepting monetary donations to support our CareKits Initiative at our Annual Meeting on October 2 at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel in Clayton.
